Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative Agriculture

West Gippsland Progress Association is looking to build a sustainable future for the region. Regenerative Agriculture is a focus for WGPA.

We support regenerative farming and land management practices within the Cardinia Shire Council and adjacent Councils.

WGPA formed a Regenerative Agriculture working group and the key objective of this group is to increase the awareness of regenerative farming through Education, Demonstration, Verification and the promotion of these practices to all interested parties.

WGPA appointed industry expert Inspire Ag Solutions which has developed a three-year regenerative action plan built around the input of the 'working group' findings.

“After the bushfires, our thinking changed, because we had not a blade of grass on the property, but the fires were a catalyst to thinking about how we can regenerate and improve, and it’s just opened up a whole new door.”

— Ingrid Green.

Regenerative Agriculture

Hear from Ingrid Green, who lives on a 500-acre property in West Gippsland, who was severely impacted by the devastating Bunyip Complex Bushfires of March 2019. Hear how Ingrid now farms her property with a sustainable approach using regenerative agriculture methods.

“Healthy soil, healthy pastures, healthy food, healthy animals.”
